Evangelical Community Hospital is Hiring a PA / CRNP General Surgery Nocturnist (Full Time) Near Lewisburg, PA

POSITION DETAILS
Department: General Surgery
Location: Lewisburg, PA
Typical Work Schedule: Monday through Sunday 7pm-7am (7 on/7off)
Primary Shift: Shift 3
Work Type: 1.0 FTE (full-time, 80 hours biweekly)

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
  • Partner with experienced physicians and advanced practitioners for consults of new patients and follow-ups of established patients.
  • 7-on / 7-off schedule; 7 PM to 7 AM; all inpatient in a newly renovated hospital setting. No office outpatient work.
  • Will work with Vascular & Wound patients as a cross coverage; collaborate with Hopsitalists, Emergency Medicine, & OB/GYN providers.
  • All encompassing role with variety & independence. Will be doing procedures (drain removal, paracentesis, thoracentists, chest tubes, I&D, central lines, a-lines), responding to codes/rapid responses, consults, OR assist, and management of surgical inpatients/admits.
  • Ideal candidate would have surgical experience; however, the team will train for the right candidate. New graduates are welcome to apply if their passion is in surgery.

QUALIFICATIONS
Physician Assistant
1. Two year degree in an appropriate area of study (as recognized by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.)
2. Must have State Physician Assistant Certification, accomplished through completion of Board approved apprenticeship and evaluation or graduation from Board approved P.A. program.
3. Satisfactory completion of exam (given by National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants) or must have completed necessary requirements to take test and be planning to do so.
4. Pennsylvania state police criminal record check, child abuse clearance and a FBI criminal history check required.
5. Must be CPR certified.
Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner
1. Must be a registered nurse licenses in state of Pennsylvania, who has successfully completed a formal nurse practitioner program approved by a national accrediting agency.
2. Certified by a national certified organization recognized by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
3. Three years experience as a nurse practitioner required, some of which may have to be in a specific clinical area. Counseling experience desirable.
4. Pennsylvania state police criminal record check, child abuse clearance and a FBI criminal history check required.
4. Must be CPR certified.

- Good manual dexterity and motor coordination to operate a variety of office equipment.
- Physical Demands are light involving walking and sitting throughout the day.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English to communicate effectively.
