Job Description:

Evansburg Vineyards is building a new kitchen and is looking for friendly, organized, energetic and creative new cooks that are excited to craft and execute a brand new menu full of vibrant, delicious Mediterranean/American flavors that compliment our already superb selection of estate made wines.

The Kitchen Supervisor will work closely with the Executive Chef and cooks to ensure that a high quality product is served at all times while also ensuring that a great workplace is being cultivated in the kitchen.

The Kitchen Supervisor will be in charge of an efficient BOH team when the Executive Chef is not present. The Kitchen Supervisor will be assisting the Executive Chef in leading service in high volume shifts and be expected to support the kitchen in creating and serving high quality food at all times. Including events, catering on site events and regular service.

The Kitchen Supervisor will be tasked with:

  • Overseeing all kitchen duties and inventory and product delivery when Chef is not in the kitchen
  • Ensuring all proper food safety measures are followed and that our kitchen excels in all sanitary and cleanliness inspections.
  • Will be accountable for the smooth operation of the whole BOH team.
  • Making and completing prep lists.
  • Assist in training new kitchen staff
  • Maintaining kitchen equipment and ensuring a high level of operation at all times.
  • Assist with ordering, receiving and prep lists.
  • Leading opening and closing procedures in the kitchen.
  • Attending and assisting in winery organized events and workshops
  • Relay knowledge of all menu related items to staff and management.
  • Assisting with questions from patrons regarding the menu and special dietary concerns.
  • Point person for all communication with management and ownership when dealing with the kitchen.
  • Have a great relationship with all other staff members and maintain an open, honest, friendly and productive line of communication at all times.

The ideal candidate is/has:

  • Experience working in a high volume kitchen and leading a staff through high volume service
  • Enthusiasm for food, wine and pairing of food and wine.
  • A commanding presence with an optimistic attitude.
  • Proficient with kitchen management systems such as KDS systems / POS systems, Homebase, ordering procedures etc.
  • The ability to creatively and quickly problem solve, collaborate and persevere with a team and stay calm under pressure.
  • Highly responsible and reliable.
  • Able to carry heavier kitchen equipment and supplies.
  • Able to push, pull, lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • ServSafe certified (preferred)
  • Creative, skilled in culinary acumen
  • Able to communicate clearly, respectfully and effectively with management and subordinates.

More about the Job: Must be available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. This role is full-time and will be on a fixed schedule. 40-50 hours per week and more if required.

Compensation: This is an hourly paid position of at least $20/hour. You will be paid bi-weekly.
