Job Summary/Basic Function:
Under general supervision, support activities related to scheduling and use of college facilities for internal and external events.

  • Operate safely, be aware of hazardous conditions, report all unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
  • May assist with scheduling use of on-site facilities
  • Provides services including setup, tear-down and signage with a-Frames and trees around campus. This position will also assist with Fitness Center setups and tear-downs to include vinyl flooring, bleachers, furniture, and signage.
  • Participates in event pre-planning regarding details of current or scheduled events such as location, dates, times, and services needed.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of department policies and procedures.
  • May assist with maintaining electronic inventory of space by recording room descriptions, classifications, space capacities, furniture and equipment in each room.
  • Assists with coverage of External events at the Fitness Center as needed.
  • Assists with campus Motor-pool vans by vacuuming, washing, cleaning and driving for repairs as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record
  • Demonstrated experience communicating effectively with management, employees, vendors, and customers
  • Experience providing excellent service and teamwork skills; shows respect when dealing with customers and team members
  • Displays a positive and open mind at all times with respect to the job duties required for the position
  • Looks for ways to consistently improve processes, procedure, efficiency, and quality
  • Strong attention to detail; able to complete work both accurately and efficiently
  • Ability to apply sound judgment and creative problem-solving skills to resolve work issues
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to quality service and results
  • Basic computer skills to review work requests, review room layout maps, and report hours worked
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to support events, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
Six Months experience as a Maintenance Custodian, or an equivalent combination of experience in the maintenance, custodial, and/or Event setup field

This is a physically demanding position. Primary job function is setting up and moving tables and chairs, podium, stage, curtains and other items in meeting rooms.
Ability to regularly lift and move furniture and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
Ability to see to confirm requested room setups and signage placement.
Ability to exchange information on the phone and/or in person
Work Hours: Hours will vary depending on event needs. Average 15-16 hours per week, maximum 69 hours per month. Requires evening and weekend hours in support of events.
