Evergreen Public Schools is Hiring a Dual Immersion Elementary Academic Interventionist (6400 ELL) Near Vancouver, WA

This is a Continuing Position
Evergreen Public Schools (EPS) offers the following to eligible employees who work at least 630 hours in a school year:

Summary StatementDual Language Education: This position requires a Spanish proficiency test. Applicants who successfully pass the Spanish proficiency exam score at the Advanced-mid or higher. EPS uses the ACTFL language rubrics in speaking and writing to interpret and verify assessment results. Any candidate with a recent Spanish proficiency test score from a recognized agency (within one year) can submit those scores in lieu of testing. It is strongly recommended that applicants applying for this position hold a Bilingual and/or EL endorsement and have knowledge/understanding and/or experience with Dual Language Education and biliteracy development.
Essential Functions
  • Provide Bilingual Spanish/English reading and/or math intervention to flexible groupings of students in grades K-
  • Provide intervention services in an inclusionary manner within the
  • Attend required intervention professional development sessions and
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with all school teams, community stakeholders and
  • Maintain a positive relationship with students, staff, parents, and community by modeling respect, cooperation, and professionalism with others, recognizing the personal achievements and professional contributions of others and demonstrating knowledge of a sensitivity toward individuals and groups from all racial, ethnic/cultural, national socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Assist in the screening process and placement of students in the Title I and/or LAP
  • Assist with the instructional direction of Paraeducators, if
  • Complete all program records on behalf of the school in an accurate and timely
  • Initiate and support activities for parents and teachers of participating students, including families whose student’s participant in the Dual Language Program.
  • Implement and support the Title I and/or LAP programs within grant guidelines and under the direction of building administrators and the Federal Programs Department.
  • Leads for inclusive programming for students qualified for Special Education Services, Bilingual Education and those learning English as a second language.
  • Develops cultural competence and a commitment to equity in outcomes and opportunities for adults and
  • Leads for equity towards college and career
  • Nurtures a school environment that celebrates, respects, and values diversity where teaching and learning are made relevant and meaningful to students of various cultures.

Qualifications
  • Valid Washington Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsements; ELL endorsement and Bilingual required; Reading, and/or Math endorsement
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in providing instruction in reading and math, using a variety of
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in providing Spanish/English reading instruction within a 90/10 dual language program.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective Spanish/English written and oral communications with diverse community members to include students, staff, parents and community stakeholders.
  • Ability to respond to and engage with a diverse multi-cultural, multi-racial and linguistically diverse community, and to work side by side and foster strong, positive relationships with parents, staff, students and the public.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess students, including Spanish/English assessments, using a variety of methods and analyze results for intervention
  • Minimum three years recent and successful classroom teaching experience at K-3 Spanish bilingual education OR Three years recent and successful experience in providing K-5 Bilingual intervention.
