JOB SUMMARY and KEY OBJECTIVES:
To maintain inventory by moving, storing, and documenting the flow of incoming & outgoing materials as well as point of use items for production staff
.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES and TASKS:
•Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to load & unload items onto and off of delivery trucks•Store inventory materials in designated locations•Keeps inventory, loading areas, and material handling machinery clean•Maintains in-process inventory at point of use work centers by delivering materials and supplies to work centers•Conducts frequent partial physical inventory counts to verify accuracy of computer records; conducts a complete physicalinventory count annually•Participates as needed in determining purchase requirements for blanket orders•Gather required materials for inter-company transfer orders as directed•Learns and adheres to workplace safety regulations•Other activities as directed by Purchasing & Inventory Supervisor
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:
•Basic knowledge of inventory control procedures•Skill in organizing work efficiently and ability to work with minimum supervision•Skill in communicating with productions workers, the purchasing department, and with outside vendors•Previous certification as a forklift operator desirable but not required
PHYSICAL EFFORT
•While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk reach with hands and arms; stoop,kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.•The employee is frequently required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and climb or balance.•The employee is frequently required to walk; employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds andoccasionally up to 50 pounds.•Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjustfocus.•The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
