Job Description

THE POSITION

In this key role, you will be responsible for leading and contributing to the development of proposals, responses to requests for information (RFIs), and other relevant documents. You will collaborate with employees across various functional areas as needed. Your responsibilities will see you own the process to align the sales strategy with the commercial sales team, organizing internal "kick-off meetings" with your internal stakeholders, drafting the deliverables, and expediting requests to senior leaders for expert input in line with the proposal's strategic vision. You must develop documents efficiently and accurately according to EVERSANA SOPs, and within specified deadlines. Additionally, you will communicate project statuses and escalate potential issues to relevant department directors and senior management to ensure EVERSANA's success. The role also involves creating budgets for our commercialization and integrated models.

As a Manager, you will have line management responsibilities and assist in mentoring junior team members, in addition to supporting team initiatives aligned with our goals.

This is a highly visible role, and as the successful candidate, you will interact with senior management across the organization. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are critical, along with strong writing abilities, attention to detail, and the capability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Our employees are tasked with delivering excellent business results through the efforts of their teams. These results are achieved by:

  • Manage the proposal development process maintaining timelines for deliverables for internal and external clients, plan and communicate effectively to enforce internal deadlines on a large team of people from diverse departments across the organization.
  • Research information for Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
  • Organize and facilitate proposal kick off meetings
  • Drive operational service line representatives to provide expert text tailored and capture the sales strategy to ensure that the proposals are of high quality with regard to content, accuracy and presentation.
  • Construct budgets using company's proprietary Excel-based costing tool with input from SMEs.
  • Maintain Department tracking including updating Salesforce and SharePoint as required.
  • Lead the enhancement of proposal development tools and processes.
  • Maintain proposal library and other proposal writing resources.
  • Direct supervisory responsibilities for Proposal Writers and other support staff.
  • Occasional contact with Sponsors (external).
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.
  • All other duties as assigned.

People leaders must possess both the skills to effectively accomplish these tasks and the emotional intelligence to do so in alignment with our cultural values. In addition to the critical management and leadership tasks listed above, this role also includes the following unique responsibilities:

  • Participate in interviews during hiring activities.
  • Review performance of direct reports relative to departmental objectives; perform appraisal with each employee.

EXPECTIONS OF THE JOB

  • Travel National travel 3-5 times per year
  • Hours 40 hours per week, M-F

Qualifications

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.

  • Demonstrable ability to understand complex concepts/ideas and apply them to a specific function/task; Self-starter as demonstrated by actively seeking out solutions to problems/self-educating where knowledge is lacking. Both of these may be demonstrated through possession of a bachelor’s degree, but in lieu of this, other qualifications/experience will be considered.
  • Previous experience in a proposals writer/manager position, managing multiple client deliverables at any one time across a variety of service areas
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical development and commercialization
  • Must be highly organized with excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated strong writing skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional computer skills with expert working knowledge of Microsoft Office® (specifically Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint), use of AI-tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and guidance to staff in department

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Sciences degree
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and motivational skills
  • Experience managing/developing proposal staff members
  • Previous experience with budgets/pricing as part of the bidding process

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

The physical and mental requirements along with the work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.

Office: While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is frequently required to reach, grasp, stand and/or sit for long periods of time (up to 90% of the shift), walk, talk and hear; occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet, with frequent interruptions and multiple demands.

EVERSANA is committed to providing competitive salaries and benefits for all employees. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $115,000 to $120,000 and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. The base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, other job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living). EVERSANA reserves the right to modify this base salary range at any time.
