Organization: Every Day is a Miracle (EDM) 

Location: Bronx, New York 

Position Type: Part-Time (21 hours per week) 9-5 pm (or 8-4 pm) Wednesday-Friday

Compensation: $20 per hour 

Job Summary: As a Part-Time Volunteer Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in managing EDM's volunteer efforts and youth programs. This role focuses on the coordination of volunteer activities within the pantry, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and supervision. The Coordinator will ensure the efficient operation of the pantry, contributing significantly to our mission of fighting hunger in the Bronx. This position also involves coordinating our youth program and internships, working with schools and other organizations to manage volunteer groups.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Recruit, train, and manage volunteers. 
• Schedule and supervise volunteers, ensuring smooth pantry operations. 
• Develop and implement training programs for volunteers. 
• Oversee and develop the Summer Youth Program and internship opportunities, including recruitment, supervision, and program evaluation. 
• Give Verbal and Written reports on the status of the volunteer department
• Liaise with schools and organizations for youth engagement and volunteer involvement. 
• Manage volunteer records and communication using Salesforce. 
• Organize and supervise special events and community initiatives. 
• Develop strategies to enhance the effectiveness of volunteer participation. 
• Foster strong community relationships and serve as a liaison between EDM and various stakeholders. 

Qualifications: 

• Associate’s degree (or higher) in a relevant field or equivalent experience in volunteer coordination, preferably in a non-profit setting. 
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) or (Bengali/English)
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills. 
• Proficiency in Salesforce and data management. 
• Ability to work effectively in a part-time capacity, both independently and as part of a team. 
• A strong commitment to community service and a passion for addressing food insecurity. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Familiarity with the socio-economic challenges of the Bronx community is advantageous.
