The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing care in Telemetry. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her patients in the Emergency Department. They communicate with the physician about the changes in the patient’s clinical condition including results of the diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is capable of responding quickly and accurately to changes in the condition and/or response to treatment. Is knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies and Hospital Social Worker. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality

What you will do in this role:

• You will be assessing patients initially on admission to the unit and continually according to patient needs, condition change, or unit/department standards
• You will be serving as an advocate for patient/family regarding decisions affecting the Plan of Care
• You will be developing, implementing, and modifying the patient’s plan of care according to the patient’s progress

Qualifications:

• Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse, have an active RN license in the state of California.
• ACLS (must be AHA)
• BLS (must be AHA)
• PALS (must be AHA)
• ENPC
• TNCC
• NRP
• NIHSS or Stroke Certification highly preferred
• MAB training
• Basic Arrythmia Interpretation
• Must have COVID vaccination/booster preferred
• Minimum of one (1) year experience as a ER RN.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare professionals
• Ability to work at least minimum of one shift per month
• Strong commitment to reliability and punctuality

Education:

Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ASN, BSN, MSN)

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised.

Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Proficient computer skills.

Experience with using everyday technology tools (e.g, email, Microsoft Office, voicemail, internet/intranet to access, organize and store job-related information. EMR.
