Evolve Healthcare is seeking a seasoned ICU travel RN for a hospital that is looking to fill a 13- week contract in Bakersfield, CA.
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the ICU Unit. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to their assigned patients. They communicate with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
Qualifications:
· Current and valid state RN License
· ACLS (must be AHA)
· BLS (must be AHA)
· NIHSS
· MUST have previous travel nursing experience
· Basic EKG interpretation test assigned during orientation. Critical care RNs (ED/ICUs/PICU) will have more than just the basic interpretation test (like those included in the STEMI curriculum and Procedural Sedation curriculum assigned to them).
· EMR system: Cerner must have experience
· Must be willing to Float – Travelers are 1st to float to MedSurg/Tele units.
· Must have COVID vaccination/booster
· Minimum of two (2)-year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; ICU setting
· Proficient computer skills.
· Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
· Ability to work independently as well as part of team
· Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare professionals
Education:
· Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
· Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised.
· Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
· Experience with using everyday technology tools (e.g, email, Microsoft Office, voicemail, internet/intranet to access, organize and store job-related information. EMR: Cerner (required to experience).
