JOB SUMMARY

We are actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Scientist with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience. The ideal candidate will not only possess strong expertise in Natural Language Processing (NLP) but also demonstrate a profound understanding of probability analysis and analysis of outcome probability. Additionally, the candidate should have a solid background in machine learning models and be comfortable working with large datasets.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Utilize advanced NLP techniques to extract insights and meaning from unstructured textual data.
• Develop and implement machine learning models, including LLMs, to solve complex data problems and drive business decisions.
• Conduct probability analysis and analysis of outcome probability on various datasets to identify potential threats and opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data science solutions into existing systems and processes.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science, NLP, and machine learning techniques.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND QUALFICATIONS

• Master's degree in computer science, statistics, applied math, economics or related field required. Ph.D. degree preferred.
• 5 years of building machine learning models for business application experience
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or Stata.
• Experience working with large-scale datasets and data manipulation tools (e.g., SQL, Big Query, Spark).
• Demonstrated experience in risk analysis within the finance or insurance sectors is highly desirable, including expertise in evaluating credit risk, fraud detection, or actuarial analysis.
• Analyze downstream risks of products to users/customers.
• Deep knowledge of advanced statistical methods, with a focus on NLP and LLMs
• Must possess strong computer skills in MS Office, including Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel, and Outlook.
• Requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with different departments within the company and employees.
• Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information.
• Requires the ability to prioritize work, meet stringent deadlines, balance multiple tasks and work in a team environment. 
• Proven experience working in a fast-paced environment where personal initiative is a critical element to success.
