Evolver Federal is seeking is currently seeking highly motivated self-starters to join our team as a copper/fiber cable technician supporting a government customer in Washington DC. In this role, you would provide the following support:

• Be part of the of the cable team and will be responsible for the installation, organization, diagrams, and patch cable development of CAT5/6, low voltage cables, and fiber, while adhering to best practices, industry standards, and manufacturer requirements, aid in arranging routers, hubs, and UPS devices.
• Perform site survey support for installation of Agency network drops.
• Special focus on the termination (connecting and securing cables to their respective endpoints, such as patch panels, connectors, or devices) and organization of cabling within designated areas that include riser closets and racks in various locations.
• Analyze assigned tasks and provide estimated time frames to complete to the designated representative.
• Perform installation of new drops (copper and fiber) throughout client site including testing of the network drops and fiber.
• Provide regular reports on cable terminations, including any changes or updates.
• Maintain detailed documentation of cable terminations, labeling, and patch panel assignments.
• Troubleshoot common cable problems using fault isolation.

Basic Qualifications:

• 3 years of Cabling experience.
• 2 years of experience with CAT6 and fiber standards
• 2 years of experience with cable troubleshooting and fault isolation.
• 2 years of experience testing cables for continuity and signal quality.
• Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• 2 years of experience with ST, SC, MT-RJ fiber optic connectors.
• 2 years of experience using digital multimeter, NETSCOUT Network and Cable tester,

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5 years of Cabling experience.
• 3 years of experience with CAT6 and fiber standards
• 3 years of experience with cable troubleshooting and fault isolation.
• 3 years of experience testing cables for continuity and signal quality.

• CompTIA Network
• Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST)
• Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT)
• BICSI Installer 1 (INST1)Sure
