Job Title: Development & Operations (DevOps) Engineer

Location: Irvine, California (Hybrid Working)

Salary: $120,000 – $135,000 per annum

Job Summary

Our client is seeking a talented and enthusiastic DevOps Engineer to join their satellite technology team. As a key contributor, you will play a crucial role in optimizing software development and deployment processes to support satellite missions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DevOps practices, experience in satellite technology, and a passion for advancing space exploration through innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cybersecurity specialists to ensure AWS environment compliance with policies
• Understand security concepts such as networking, user authentication/authorization, firewalls, and encryption
• Manage day-to-day operations of Kubernetes clusters
• Maintain AWS environment with security updates/best practice implementations and overall health of cloud environments
• Work closely with other teams (e.g., satellite operators, sales, analytics product software) to resolve project and/or customer-related issues
• Maintain a competent understanding of the company’s products, support, and services
• Implement an “Infrastructure as Code” mindset

Skills and Experience

Required:

• Degree in Computer Science or a similar field
• 2-3 years’ experience with Kubernetes
• 3 years’ Linux systems administration
• Experience with cloud services (AWS/GCP/Azure)
• Proficiency in Terraform
• Proficiency in Python or Go programming languages
• Experience with software version control systems
• Familiarity with pipeline tools (FluxCD/Argo/etc.)
• Ability to obtain US Security Clearance

Preferred:

• Certified Kubernetes Administrator
• Certified Kubernetes Developer
• AWS Certified Security
