Key Responsibilities:

• Install, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial doors, including but not limited to overhead doors, rolling steel doors, sectional doors, fire doors, and storefront doors.
• Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic tests to identify issues with door mechanisms, motors, sensors, controls, and safety features.
• Replace worn or damaged door components, such as springs, cables, rollers, tracks, hinges, weather stripping, and locking mechanisms.
• Adjust door systems to ensure proper alignment, balance, and operation according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
• Install and program electronic access control systems, keypads, card readers, intercoms, and remote entry devices for commercial door applications.
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections on commercial door systems to detect potential problems and prevent equipment failures.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical trades preferred.
• Proven experience as a commercial door technician, maintenance technician, or similar role, with hands-on experience working with various types of commercial door systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with knowledge of door hardware, electrical circuits, and mechanical components.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations governing the installation and maintenance of commercial door systems (e.g., ADA compliance, fire codes, safety regulations).
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools, as well as specialized equipment for door installation and repair.
• Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and vendors.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing ladders.
• Comfortable working in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, and in potentially hazardous conditions (e.g., heights, extreme temperatures).
