Job Duties

• Transcribe doctor notes and case information.
• Answer telephones.
• Utilize computerized systems for daily work assignments.
• Research various requests form satellite offices and handle appropriately.
• Performs other duties as directed and/or necessary.
• Upload dictations to the EHR in a timely manner
• Email dictations to referral sources (attorneys, chiropractors, specialists, etc.)
• Keep dictation tracking spreadsheet up-to-date
• Effectively communicate with Supervisor and operational leaders regarding status updates

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Typing 50 WPM.

Additional Skills/Competencies

• Certification in medical transcription preferred.
• Excellent grammar and proofreading skills.
• Knowledge of computer applications, including Windows 95
• Knowledge of insurance plans, workers’ compensation, and personal injury.
• Ability to effectively interact with doctors, attorneys, patients and co-workers.

Physical/Mental Requirements

Sitting, standing, walking, reaching above shoulder length, working with body bent over at waist, working in kneeling position, climbing stairs, climbing ladders, working with arms extended at shoulder length, lifting max. of 20 lbs.
