Excelsior Classical Academy is a tuition-free public charter school dedicated to providing a rigorous, rich curriculum in an environment that fosters responsibility, integrity, and excellence. We are currently seeking a passionate Physical Education Teacher to join our team and contribute to our mission of helping each student reach higher.

Position Overview:
- Develop and implement engaging physical education lessons required by North Carolina and in alignment with Excelsior's educational standards.
- Instruct students on various physical activities, sports, and health-related topics.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate physical education into the overall school curriculum.
- Supervise students during physical education classes and ensure a safe learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and participation in physical education activities.

Duties:
- Plan and execute dynamic physical education lessons that promote fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback to support their growth.
- Organize and oversee extracurricular sports programs or events.
- Encourage students to develop healthy lifestyle habits through physical activity.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or related field required.
- Teaching certification/license preferred.
- Experience in developing lesson plans and implementing curriculum.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of various sports, fitness activities, and health principles.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for students.

Desired Skills:
- Experience with curriculum development in the field of Physical Education.
- Familiarity with learning technology tools for enhancing physical education instruction.
- Ability to mentor students in sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in lesson planning tailored to diverse student needs.
