ExecuSource has partnered with a top-100 brokerage firm in the search for a C ommercial Insurance Associate, Mergers & Acquisition. For more tenured candidates, this role could be an AVP position. This role involves working closely with PE clients on due diligence for M&A transactions, with a particular focus on the insurance aspects. The candidate will be involved in reviewing and analyzing insurance policies, loss information, and applications to assess adequacy and identify gaps in coverage. This role requires excellent project management, communication, and analytical skills.

What you get to do:

• Conduct detailed reviews of insurance policies, loss information, and applications during the due diligence process.
• Assess and identify potential insurance coverage gaps and advise on necessary additional coverage.
• Collaborate with PE clients to negotiate purchase prices based on insurance due diligence findings.
• Analyze data and prepare comprehensive reports outlining cost impacts and coverage recommendations.
• Provide consulting services to PE firms, including risk management reviews and insurance program assessments.
• Place and manage insurance coverage post-acquisition, ensuring alignment with client needs.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as both a consultant and a sales professional.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Ensure effective communication with team members and clients, maintaining an open and collaborative work environment.

What you need to succeed:

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in insurance, with knowledge of P&C, workers' compensation, general liability, property, auto, directors and officers (D&O), employment practices, fiduciary, crime, and cyber insurance.
• Experience working with PE groups and/or M&A
• Experience in underwriting, particularly in management lines or cyber, is highly desirable.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to think on your feet.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with strong report writing abilities.
• Detail-oriented with a thorough understanding of policy endorsements and the ability to read and interpret insurance policies and applications.
• Ability to work well in a close-knit team and manage responsibilities remotely.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field preferred.
