Distribution Center Supervisor – York, PA
The Opportunity
Our client is a local division of a multi-billion dollar company that prides itself as a cutting-edge technology producer in a variety of Consumer Products markets and has hired us to seek out a Distribution Center Supervisor for their York, PA location.
This position reports to the Distribution Center Manager and is responsible for overseeing all distribution center operations, including shipping, receiving, warehousing, special projects, and housekeeping across all shifts, managing both salaried and hourly staff, and ensuring efficiency in processing, inventory control, safety, and equipment.
The ideal candidate will have experience:
Promoting a safety culture and enforcing policies consistently.
Overseeing the shipping department to meet customer delivery appointments.
Coordinating flow of inbound freight and maintaining product continuity.
Ensuring housekeeping meets GMP and safety requirements.
Communicating with corporate regarding customer service issues.
Fostering a cohesive work environment for maintaining good customer relationships.
Managing WMS and troubleshooting operating system issues.
Supervising supervisors, hourly employees, and temporary staff.
Identifying and coordinating specific training for distribution staff.
Maintaining competent staff through selection, training, and motivation.
Assisting with new plant or corporate initiatives related to systems and equipment.
Managing supervisor performance through goal setting and reviews.
Coordinating staffing levels and resources effectively.
Prioritizing workload to meet business demands.
Addressing issues concerning product, equipment, and space.
Facilitating training needs assessments and execution of training requirements.
Qualifications include:
BS Degree
5-7 years of supply chain, distribution, or materials management experience within a manufacturing environment
CPG industry experience a plus
