Director of Facilities & Maintenance
Position Overview:
The Director of Facilities & Maintenance
plays a key role in overseeing all aspects of maintenance operations and car wash services within our organization. This leadership position requires a strategic thinker with strong managerial skills to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of our facilities. The Director will be responsible for managing a team of maintenance technicians and car wash attendants, overseeing maintenance schedules, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and customer service in our car wash operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Management:
Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance programs for all facilities, including buildings and equipment.
Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
Supervise a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
Oversee repairs and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems as needed.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment for all staff.
Car Wash Operations:
Manage all aspects of the car wash facility, including equipment maintenance and service.
Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent and high-quality car wash services.
Monitor car wash performance and
implementing improvements as necessary.
Coordinate with suppliers to ensure adequate inventory of car wash chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
Train and motivate car wash attendants to deliver exceptional service and maintain cleanliness standards.
Budget and Cost Management:
Develop and manage budgets for maintenance and car wash operations, including labor, supplies, and equipment.
Monitor expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers to ensure competitive pricing and quality service.
Quality Assurance:
Implement quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and maintenance in all facilities.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and address any issues promptly.
Establish and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
Staff Training and Development:
Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for maintenance technicians and car wash attendants.
Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and teamwork within the maintenance and car wash teams.
Recognize and reward outstanding performance and provide constructive feedback as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in facilities management, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
Proven experience in maintenance management, preferably in retail/convenience store or facilities management industry.
Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and building maintenance practices.
Familiarity with car wash operations, equipment, and chemicals is a plus.
Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in computer software for scheduling, budgeting, and reporting.
