PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION Provides regulatory filing and hearing support under attorney supervision in the following areas: Case/docket research; Public Service Commission and court filings; file management; hearing preparation; and other areas as the need arises. Works with business clients, legal practice groups and legal operations team, as appropriate, to carry out job duties.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES - Coordinate filings with regulatory team, prepare for filing, file and serve required regulatory and court filings
- P rovide general support in connection with administrative and evidentiary hearings before the public service commissions
- Provide support by researching issues and shepardizing cases
- Track and assist in meeting public service commission and court compliance obligations
- Cite check regulatory and court filings
- Under attorney supervision, assist in drafting routine commission and regulatory filings
- Special projects for Legal Regulatory group, non-Legal Regulatory practice groups or legal operations team
JOB SCOPE Supports attorneys and company management in legal and/or business affairs; interfaces with court and agency personnel, outside and opposing counsel and their staffs. Capable of fulfilling all duties of the paralegal position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree and minimum of 4-years' experience preferred; Paralegal or associate degree and minimum of 6 years experience required
- Experience drafting routine litigation or regulatory pleadings
- Excellent research skills, including experience with Lexis, Pacer, and electronic court and/or Maryland and District of Columbia Public Service Commission dockets8
- Strong file management and organizational skills
- Experience providing support in connection with trial and/or hearing preparation
- Ability to multi-task and effectively manage workload demands
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Familiarity with filing requirements and procedures for the Maryland Public Service Commission and the District of Columbia Public Service Commission
