Under the direction of the Director of Diagnostic Imaging oversees all operations of the MRI section. Is expected to function with initiative and independent judgment. Works with the supervising Radiologist to create protocols and to monitor the technical quality of all exams. Serves as the immediate supervisor to all staff in the MRI section.

Requirements:

• Post secondary training in field or equivalent experience.
• 5-10 years experience
• ARRT Registered
• NH MIRT
• CPR Certified within 90 days of hire

Major Responsibilities:

1. Meets all requirements of a staff MRI technologist.
2. Participates in the development of staffing and organizational; operating plans and programs; policies and procedures; work methods and performance standards.
3. Schedules and directs the work of the employees under his/her supervisory control; orient and train; assure observance of policies and procedures; work standards; check for proper work completion and take corrective action as needed.
4. Responsible for all safety regulations in the MRI Department.
5. Participates in making decisions for equipment upgrades and replacement.
6. Recommends promotion; discipline and other administrative actions. Discusses; with the Department Director; any unresolved problems and recommends action in personnel matters as necessary.
7. Schedules assignments or personnel to coordinate activities within the MRI section with other departmental activities and services of the hospital.
8. Assists Department Director with the formulation of departmental budgets.
9. Assists Department Director with performance appraisals for the employees assigned to the MRI section.
10. Is responsible for the procurement; storage and routing of supplies.
