Job Title: Manager, Technical Services
Position Overview: The Manager, Technical Services is responsible for overseeing the technical operations and services within the organization. This role involves managing a team of technical professionals and ensuring the effective delivery and quality of technical solutions and technical support to meet the needs of the organization. The Manager of Technical Services collaborates with various departments, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure the smooth functioning and quality of technical systems and services.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Leadership and Team Management:
  • Provide effective leadership and direction to the technical services team.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor technical staff, fostering a high-performing and collaborative work environment.
  • Establish clear goals, objectives, and performance expectations for the team.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
  1. Technical Operations Management:
  • Oversee the day-to-day technical operations, ensuring systems, services and equipment are operating efficiently.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and standards for technical operations and services.
  • Monitor the technical expertise provided, identify areas for improvement, and implement proactive measures to enhance reliability, quality and scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement technical strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  1. Technical Support and Issue Resolution:
  • Coordinate and prioritize technical support requests, ensuring timely resolution of issues and incidents.
  • Establish and maintain service level agreements to meet user expectations for technical support and incident resolution.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues and provide guidance and support to the team in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Foster effective communication channels with end-users to understand their needs, address concerns, and provide technical guidance and training.
  1. Budgeting and Resource Planning:
  • Develop and manage the technical services budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and cost-effective solutions.
  • Identify technology needs, evaluate options, and make recommendations for hardware, software, and infrastructure investments.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in technical services management.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. A master's degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience in managing technical operations, infrastructure, and support services.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Solid understanding of technical systems
  • Familiarity with industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements:
  • Able to work a desk job requiring long hours of sitting and working on a computer.
  • Occasionally walking around the office, attending meetings, and visiting different departments.
  • Proficient in using a computer, including typing, using a mouse, and other peripherals.
  • Ability to read and analyze documents, computer screens, and technical diagrams.
  • Effective listening skills for communication during meetings, both in-person and virtual.
  • Ability to work long hours when necessary, especially during project deadlines or technical emergencies.
  • Potential travel to different locations for meetings, conferences, or site visits, which might involve driving or flying.
Salary Range: $120-140,000
