Summary of company:

The Scientific Research Intern assists the Principal Investigator in research studies and aids with basic laboratory duties. Exocel Bio participates in Blumberg Institute’s 2024 Summer College program. Part of the program an intern will attend the group lunches with industry professionals, an Entrepreneur Bootcamp and participate in a final presentation day.

Summary/Objective

The Scientific Research Intern assists the Principal Investigator in research studies and aids with basic laboratory duties.

Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Follow laboratory SOP, use proper PPE, and maintain laboratory cleanliness.
• Must know basic laboratory techniques and standard laboratory equipment.
• Support research activities for studies conducted by the team.
• Summarizes the findings and present to PI.
• Assist with special projects, as needed.
• Experience with cell culture a Plus

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Requirements

• Previous lab experience
• Strong science background
• Effective written communications skills
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
• Candidate must have the ability to understand technical data and possess excellent communication skills.

Education, License, Certification, or Preferred Qualifications

· Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in the sciences, with preference for at least their junior year

· Graduate candidates of all levels may apply.

• Ability to work in lab environment following laboratory SOP
• Ability to remain in a stationary position; move; operate and use required equipment; and reach items.
• Ability to move/transport up to 30 lbs., and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to communicate, converse with others, and exchange information
