ExoTerra is microsatellite company specializing in solar electric propulsion systems and space exploration satellites. The company develops Hall Thrusters, propulsion modules, microsatellites and launch vehicle upper stages. We have been awarded multiple propulsion module and satellite contracts and are in need of a Project scheduler to build and maintain schedules.

We are seeking a Technical Writer to create high-quality documentation that enhances the success of our products. You will be part of a skilled team of technical writers who collaborate with developers, quality engineers, product managers, and usability experts to improve product accessibility.

The ideal candidate should have experience with Microsoft Office tools (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, etc.), and be adept at coordinating with Engineers, Technicians, Functional Managers, Program Managers, and customers. They will be responsible for developing, maintaining configuration control, and releasing engineering documentation to fulfill project and company objectives. The Technical Writer will compile each program's documentation into deliverable packages for review and approval by both the company and customers.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements
• Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience
• Write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help and developer guides
• Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
• Create and maintain the information architecture
• Manage document review and release through customer submittal
• Maintain configuration control of documentation throughout the review and release process.
• Assist leadership in determining appropriate timing of revision updates, maintain Draft artifacts and reconcile comments with support of technical leaders.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Proven working experience in technical writing of aerospace technical documentation
• Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail
• Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
• Excellent written skills in English and verbal communication skills
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Basic familiarity with the Subcontractor Data Requirements List (SDRL) and Deliverable Items Development (DID) processes as they relate to military, government and commercial customers.
• Bachelor's degree
• 3-7 years of experience
• Must have extensive experience in with Microsoft Office Suite

Desired Skills

• Experience with Spacecraft Fabrication and Test.
• Experience with Aerospace SDRLs and DID processes, PDM and PLM tools such as Solidworks, JIRA, GIT.
• Experience with technical documentation Configuration Management

Schedule

• 8-hour shift
