Job Title: Facility Maintenance Technician

Immediate Supervisor: Facility Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

As a Facility Maintenance Technician at SpeedVegas, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the functionality and appearance of our Welcome Center and race tracks. Your primary responsibilities will include performing routing maintenance, addressing repairs, and ensuring that all facilities meet safety and quality standards. Job Summary/Objective

Responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks. Performance of building maintenance tasks in one or more fields (e.g. carpentry; electrical; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC); plumbing, etc.); Perform general cleaning. Perform other tasks as assigned.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facilities, equipment, and systems within the Welcome Center and race tracks.
• Conduct inspections to identify and resolve issues with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, track safety features, landscape and all other areas of the facility.
• Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the Welcome Center and race track areas, including restrooms, lounges, public and outdoor spaces.
• Collaborate with the operations team to set up and maintain event-specific configurations.
• Monitor and manage facility-related inventories, ensuring adequate supply of necessary materials and tools.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, ensuring minimal disruptions to operations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
• Assist in developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe environment for guests and staff.
• Provide support for special projects and renovations as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of trades related to building maintenance and repair.
• Knowledge of a variety of building maintenance procedures and techniques.
• Knowledge of machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for the maintenance and repair of public buildings.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• Skill in reading and following blueprints and assembly instructions.
• Skill in basic computer software such as Smartsheet and Outlook. 
• Skills in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
• Skill in using hand and power tools.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships with staff and the public.
• Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong recognizing there is a problem
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Prefer fluent ENGLISH language ability. 

Work Environment

May be exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable; may be exposed to hazardous equipment and/or hazardous conditions requiring the need to wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hard hats; may require working in very hot or very cold temperatures; may require working under covered structure with roof but no walls; requires working outdoors exposed to all weather conditions. Performs physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials; uses hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things; performs repetitive physical activities or mental activities without stopping. Requires contact with others (face-to-face, by telephone or otherwise). Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking. Must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the construction trades. Must be able to handle hazardous materials safely and tolerate exposure to electrical hazards.

Qualifications 

Experience and Education:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must have 5 to 10 years of experience in a maintenance facility position
• Prefer a commercial or hospitability background
• Team oriented, flexible and focused on maintaining a high level of competency
• Valid driver’s license
• Available weekends as needed and on-call for emergencies
