Job Title: Procurement Specialist

Pay Rate: $65k - $80k

Location: IAH Airport Area

Job Description: As a Procurement Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in our supply chain management by ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services necessary for our operations. You will work closely with various departments and suppliers to source, negotiate, and secure favorable terms and pricing. Your contributions will be critical to maintaining our commitment to quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sourcing and Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on their performance, cost, quality, and reliability. Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure the continuous availability of products and services.
• Negotiation: Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure advantageous agreements. Ensure favorable pricing, payment terms, and quality standards.
• Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels to meet production and project requirements. Minimize excess inventory and associated carrying costs.
• Contract Management: Coordinate with internal teams (Finance, Contract Management, and Legal) to assist in managing supplier contracts, service agreements, and purchase orders.
• Documentation: Create new Procurement SOPs, Policies, and Workflows to ensure streamlined operations, efficiency, inter-department cooperation, and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Quality Control: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure products and services meet established standards. Resolve quality issues with suppliers promptly.
• Cost Analysis: Analyze pricing and cost trends to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and cost-optimization strategies.
• Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and new products and services to make informed procurement decisions.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain, including supply shortages, price fluctuations, and supplier disruptions.
• Reporting: Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost savings for management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Proven experience as a Procurement Specialist (4 – 5 years min) or in a similar role.
• Working knowledge in Zoho Inventory and Zoho Books is a super plus.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Proficiency in writing policies and SOPs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in ERP software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and best practices.
