At EG we put the traveler at the center of everything we do. We design our marketplace to deliver better experience for our travelers. As part of the Marketplace Design team you’ll play a key role in designing and operating the EG marketplace to incentivize and empower our travel partners to give our travelers great experiences. You’ll be working closely with our traveler and partner facing product, technology and commercial teams to build new and strengthen existing network effects across our marketplace

As part of the Marketplace Design team you will play a critical role in creating long-term value for Expedia Group. Every improvement to the traveler experience builds trust, which results in increased retention and repeat. Designing the marketplace to improve visibility of those partners that are providing the best traveler experiences will result in increased trust and retention of our travelers over time. Building a transparent marketplace whilst providing coaching and insights to our partners to help them identify opportunities to improve the traveler experience increases their trust and engagement. Increasing retention and engagement across both sides of the marketplace generates incremental long-term value in powering our partners to distribute travel across the globe.

What you’ll do:

  • Identify new business opportunities through data and translate into delivery of business and customer value

  • Translate insights into action across organization by setting clear metrics goals and lead the team to meet those goals

  • Develop insights and lead the decision-making process, using decision frameworks to evaluate long-term impacts of strategic decisions while considering and managing the organization’s tolerance for risk

  • Coach others to both identify best decision outcomes and influence others to support those outcomes

  • Focus on appropriate target customers/segments and goals to achieve division and cross-division Expedia Group (EG) strategy

  • Build processes and frameworks to ensure internal collaboration across teams regarding shared customer drivers and research/data focus

  • Coach product managers across the division/organization on how to develop plans to explore customer pain points for product lines and build feedback loops

  • Mentor and guide others with the product development lifecycle

  • Apply storytelling and persuasion to connect vision, strategy and action plans at the organizational level

  • Contribute ideas and participate in industry events and forums and is recognized as an inspiring leader outside of the company

  • Drive a culture of constructive critique, challenging others to bring fresh and creative perspectives to differentiating functional technical communications

  • Be a subject matter collaborating across large groups of stakeholders to address a highly complex problem space and deliver systemic customer and business value, often spanning multiple product areas and/or divisions

  • Incorporate data, insights and causality to accurately project implications of complex system changes and develops methodologies for identifying and measuring system and outcome impacts

  • Identify ways to simplify, phase and/or improve feedback loops for a system change leading to smooth implementation

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or a related Technical field; or Equivalent related professional experience

  • Strong Product Management skills experienced in owning a product portfolio including product feature strategies, roadmaps and go-to-market plans within portfolio

  • Experienced mentoring and coaching others on the product development lifecycle

  • Shows deep understanding of customers and what they need, how to segment customers and choose which segments to focus on, and how to iteratively build products meeting target segment needs including effective feedback loops
