Senior Category Manager, IT Strategic Sourcing
The Senior Category Manager, IT Strategic Sourcing is a high-impact position, with responsibility to commercially manage and strategically source products and/or services within multiple highly complex categories. This position will provide consistent exposure to Best Buy executives, large strategic suppliers, and highly complex agreements. The right candidate will have an opportunity to make an immediate impact with noticeable results.
This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work some days on-site at the Best Buy location listed on this posting and some days virtually from home or other non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.
What you'll do:

• Responsible for development of category and sourcing strategies, sourcing execution, negotiations, and contracting activities across multiple categories within digital & IT-related areas of spend
• Optimize the total cost of ownership and increase the total value derived from our digital and technology investments for non-merchandise goods and services acquired by Best Buy
• Interact with all levels of the organization, cross functionally partnering with and influencing business leaders across the Best Buy Enterprise
• Understanding of how license agreements are structured, including complex enterprise license agreements that cover many products across many business owners
• Involved in technology negotiations of $10-$100 million contracts
• Ability to create and execute a strategic vision with analytical thinking and problem solving

Minimum Requirements:

• 6 or more years of experience in strategic sourcing or commensurate experience in related scope functions
• 3 or more years including direct experience with technology negotiations of $10-$100 million contracts
• 3 or more years collaborating with and influencing stakeholders / business partners

Preferred Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in technology, business, or related fields
• MBA or JD
• 9 or more years of experience in strategic sourcing or commensurate experience in related scope functions, including direct experience with technology negotiations of $10-$100 million contracts
• 5 or more years of project management experience
• 5 or more years of supervisory/people leadership, coaching and employee development experience
• Excellent at fostering and managing strategic relationships with internal/external customers and external company counterparts
• Experience working within a matrix fortune 100 organization a plus
• Desire to raise the bar and continuously enhance the team's standards and abilities
• Thorough understanding of how license agreements are structured, including complex enterprise license agreements that cover many products across many business owners
• Strong financial and analytical skills contributing to a demonstrated business acumen
