Senior Accountant

Our client, a respected legal services firm, is seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to join their finance team. This role is crucial in maintaining the firm's financial operations and providing accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain the general ledger for the firm
• Prepare regular financial reports for management and partners
• Oversee the firm's cash activity across all offices
• Reconcile bank accounts for all office locations
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
• Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting
• Support the annual audit process
• Assist with special financial projects as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a professional services environment
• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a legal services firm or professional services organization
• Familiarity with legal billing software
• Knowledge of trust accounting principles
• CPA certification or actively pursuing certification
