Job DescriptionInside Sales Associate Location: Chesterfield, MO (Greater St. Louis Area)
What does the Experitec Inside Sales Associate role look like? The Inside Sales Associate is a part of our Inside Sales organization and will start off primarily supporting the Inside Sales Engineers in an administrative capacity. The ISA will gain a greater understanding of the Inside Sales side of our business. Our customers are largely manufacturing facilities and Upstream Oil & Gas. We serve many different industries including chemical, power generation, refining, oil & gas, food & beverage, pulp & paper, and water.
What is the Inside Sales Associate responsible for? The ISA will work with Experitec’s Customers, Account Managers, and Inside Sales Engineers to develop the skills necessary to create and manage proposals/quotations that provide product solutions based on the customer’s needs. The ISA will work with Experitec’s Account Managers to increase sales by identifying opportunities, as well as support and manage customer orders. The ISA will also provide Business Unit Leaders and Account Managers the necessary reports to track open quotes, bookings data, and order status.
Typical work assignments include:
  • Perform general administrative duties for the Inside Sales team.
  • Provide strong customer service.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Prioritize various competing tasks and performs them quickly, accurately, and on time.
  • Learn and understand the processes, tools, systems and technology to effectively manage quotes, documentation, customer follow-up, schedules, and communicate any issues that may arise.
  • Review all pricing or order-related questions from order entry detailers, pricing department or customer, and work with customer and suppliers for resolution or correction.
  • Consult with Customers, Account Managers, and ISE’s to manage quotations for Instrumentation products, parts, and services that are in the best interest of the customer.
  • Convert Customer purchase orders into sales orders using Experitec’s business system.
  • Work with Experitec’s Order Administrators and Emerson’s Business Units to manage orders, including expediting when necessary.
  • Follow up with customers to increase quote to order conversion rate.
  • Develop a solid understanding of Experitec’s pricing tools, quotation software, and business system.
  • Provide reports, including open quote reports, to Experitec’s Account Managers and Emerson Business Unit Leaders.
  • Proactively look for ways to improve internal processes regarding quotation and order handling to provide better service to our customers.
  • Promote our core values and demonstrate teamwork within the Experitec organization.
  • Build effective relationships with factory contacts, who provide product information, assistance with product selection, and help deliver solutions and value to our customers.
  • Work with factory contacts to meet customer quotation and order requirements.
  • Develop relationships with Account Managers, ISEs, and Order Administrators to understand customer requirements.
  • Build proficiency with the pricing tools provided by our Emerson principals.
  • Build proficiency with Experitec's quotation software and business systems.
  • Be a trusted and reliable resource known for taking ownership of customer and factory requests.
Who can do this job? The following are preferred attributes/skills:
  • Graduate with bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
  • No experience required.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
Other basic qualifications include:
  • Excellent use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and ability to work efficiently and effectively within a business system.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be goal oriented and self-driven.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve.
  • Self-motivated.
