Key Responsibilities
- Instructional Planning and Delivery:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Design and deliver engaging lessons that accommodate various learning styles and abilities.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to support student learning and progress.
- Assessment and Evaluation:
- Conduct assessments to identify students' strengths, needs, and progress.
- Monitor and document student performance, adjusting instructional strategies as necessary.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on student progress and development.
- Classroom Management:
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and success.
- Implement effective behavior management strategies to support students' social and emotional well-being.
- Foster a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, support staff, and administrators to ensure a cohesive approach to student learning.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing valuable insights and recommendations.
- Professional Development:
- Stay current with best practices in special education through ongoing professional development.
- Attend workshops, conferences, and training sessions as required.
- Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues to enhance the overall effectiveness of the special education program.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid New Hampshire teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, preferably in a K-12 setting.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
