Press brake operators produce parts and tools from metal using a press brake, a computer numeric controlled (CNC) piece of equipment that makes precision bends. Press brake operators look at blueprints or plans for the finished product, as well as make sure the machines are set up properly, working well, and producing quality product. They look at the finished product to ensure it is defect-free and ready for the next step in production.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 2 years Press Brake experience
- Experience operating and setting up press brakes for the sheet metal industry
- Ability to perform set up’s
- Attention to detail
- Reads and understands blueprints
- Able to read and interpret drawings to produce acceptable parts
- Must be able to read measurements, i.e. tape measures
- Inspects all parts as required by process sheet and drawings
- Good attendance record
- Good safety record
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
