Aftermarket Technician
Light and Medium Duty BEVs
Exro’s Aftermarket Service Technician (AST) plays a vital role in ensuring customer satisfaction by providing efficient and effective diagnosis, repair, and maintenance resolution services for our deployed commercial electric vehicles. You will work directly with dealers, commercial customers, and partners to resolve vehicle mechanical issues, provide training, and drive continuous improvement. Experienced in electrical diagnostics, advanced mechanical repairs, etc. for diesel truck engines, and truck repair you will work out of our location and in the field regionally on the customer’s behalf to diagnose service issues quickly and effectively.
A strong communicator you will provide root analysis reporting, troubleshooting guidance, technical expertise, and customer relationship management. The Aftermarket technician will provide service and ensure vehicles are serviced to uphold the manufacturer's reputation for reliability and performance. Responsibilities:
  • Hands-on service/diagnostics for difficult repair cases onsite at vehicle location.
  • Utilize telematics and diagnose issues remotely as needed.
  • Provide support for remote diagnosis assistance.
  • Inform on telematics to continue improvement for better/easier remote diagnosis.
  • Assist engineering team with root cause analysis of issues and recurring.
  • Help drive continuous vehicle improvement.
  • Assist with the warranty process determining warranty approval and verifying claims when submitted.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for repairs and assigned tasks.
  • Ensure quick turn-around for VOR’s and maximum uptime for the operational fleet.
  • Monitor/report dealers' and partners' service readiness health, metrics, and support critical issues.
  • Diagnostics program – help drive continuous improvement.
  • Customer relationship management.
  • Lead, guide, and assist the field team with direction from the National Aftermarket Manager.
  • Maintain and manage the shop floor at our location in Torrance.
  • Other duties as needed to support company objectives.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • 3 Years hands on Diesel Truck or Electric Truck repair experience is a must for this role.
  • Two- or four-year degree in Engineering or Automotive Technology certification is preferred.
  • 5 Years’ experience in complex vehicle repair and diagnostics.
  • Technology savvy; able to use diagnostics software and tools.
  • Experience working with High Voltage electricity vehicles preferred.
  • Skilled at documentation using MS Office software, CRM, and database tools.
  • Strong planning, organizational, communication, and writing skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working independently in the field and delivering on projects and customer experience.
  • Capable of physical demands including working in tight spaces and ability to occasionally lift 50 lbs.
  • Strong communicator with stakeholders and internal advocate for customers.
  • Clean driving record and insurable a must.
  • Able to travel regionally and domestically >40% of the time.
  • Strong interest in renewables.
For job positions in CA, CO, and NYC, the estimated salary range for a new hire in this position is $45,000 - $110,000. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
