Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and supervision to nursing staff on assigned shift
- Assess and prioritize patient care needs
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare provider
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards of practice
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Assist with medical imaging procedures as needed
- Perform venipuncture for blood draws and IV placement
- Provide ventilator support as necessary
- Utilize aseptic technique during procedures and wound care
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Cerner and Athenahealth
- Assist with tube feeding administration
Qualifications:
- Valid nursing license (RN or LPN)
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a supervisory role
- Proficiency in basic life support (BLS) techniques
- Knowledge of ICD-9 coding system for accurate documentation and billing purposes
