External is Hiring a Sr Consumer Loan Underwriter Near Duluth, GA

Analyzes consumer loan applications in accordance with applicable legal, regulatory and program requirements and with established policies and procedures.
Evaluates member’s credit data and financial status and complete all underwriting functions in accordance to Credit Union standards and regulatory requirements to determine risk involved with extending credit or lending money.
Collaborates with loan originators to obtain further information, present data or explain procedures.
Ensures that loan decisions are timely and complete.
Handles the more complex loan applications including business loans involving review of corporate tax returns.
Reviews applications recommended by Consumer Loan Underwriter and decision the application.
Mentors and helps guide Consumer Loan Underwriters.
Complies with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets control.
Maintains and updates knowledge of underwriting requirements and policies and new loan types.
Provides friendly, professional and accurate financial services support to members and to the consumer lending team.
Projects and maintains the Credit Union’s professional image and reputation.

Completes special projects as assigned.
Attends and participates in meetings as required.
Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
Promotes and establishes strong, positive and productive working relationships within the organization through commitment to the company’s purpose, mission and core values.
