The Communications Associate Director is responsible for the development and implementation of internal/external communications to support business objectives for key pillars of Americas Markets (Client Executive Leadership, Center for Board Matters and EY Alumni). This position is responsible for creating and coordinating communications strategy and tracking results, as well as working with the BMC Integrated Marketing group to team where appropriate to develop programs/tools to enable our go-to-market initiatives. Position works closely with internal stakeholders across all pillars of Americas Markets communication team and serves as a focus contact for their pillars.
Essential Functions of the Job:
  • Builds relationships with key internal stakeholders to help provide marketing support to meet approved business goals and objectives.
  • Develops a comprehensive communications strategy, including annual communications plans, calendar, timelines, and budgets to meet the strategic objectives.
  • Advises and influences leadership on the appropriate channel using metrics and data.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of all plans and adjusts as needed.
  • Manages and leverages other resources (CSG, GDS, Marketing, etc) to achieve timely and impacting results.
  • Responsible for knowledge sharing from a communications perspective.
  • Participates and provides insights in leadership meetings to build brand as strategic advisor versus administrative.
  • Presents complex ideas and anticipates potential objections; influences others; anticipates and communicates ramifications of decisions and issues to project stakeholders and presents alternatives.
  • May work on public relations initiatives such as local office awareness, community involvement, alumni relationships, sponsorships, etc
  • Aligns with other communications and marketing initiatives as appropriate for their stakeholder pillars.
  • Explores innovative uses of technology to achieve communications goals.
  • Ensures the communication of key messages across internal and external channels and audiences are consistent and effective
  • Facilitate the coordination and integration of local, national, Americas-level, and global communication strategies
  • Provides editorial and production direction and oversight within the project team; review and approve communications.
Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:
  • Manages the day-to-day communications function for key Markets pillars they own.
  • Possesses deep knowledge in business to business communications and usually accomplishes work through teaming with other professionals with little direction.
  • Often acts as project leader for large projects.
  • Identifies and manages key resources needed to execute.
  • Recognized for their deep knowledge within and outside their business unit.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
  • Requires specialized mastery of strategic communications as well as broad knowledge of EY’s strategy and operations.
  • Requires broad familiarity with business and legislative trends, including but not limited to those relevant to professional services firms.
  • Requires excellent writing, editing, listening, consulting, interpersonal communication, and consensus-building skills.
  • Requires a basic understanding of change management philosophies to help position communicate appropriately.
Supervision Responsibilities:Works independently within area of communications activities. Receives limited, general direction rather than supervision. Work is reviewed for results obtained.
Other Requirements:As the job involves preparing materials for clients (internal), long hours may be required.
Job Requirements:Education:A bachelor’s degree with a marketing or communications major or equivalent experience.
Experience:Approximately 9 years of experience, marketing experience is required.

What We OfferWe offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $130,500 to $251,200. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $156,600 to $285,400. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
