Accountant

Pioneer Broadband is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team in Houlton, Maine! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and be able to manage, prepare, and examine financial records and transactions accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities Include:

• Organize, analyze, and maintain financial records
• Prepare financial statements and reports
• Manage billing processes as well as accounts payable, vendor management, and accounts receivable
• Oversee daily cash management processes and procedures
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting
• Supervision of accounting department staff
• Perform account reconciliations
• Assist with tax preparation and filing
• Assess financial operations, identify risks and challenges, and make best-practice recommendations to management
• Assist executive management in the development of best practices and controls.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field and/or equivalent years of relevant experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting with a strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Advanced knowledge of Quickbooks
• SQL experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to learn and adapt to Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Software
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail and accuracy
