To machine, inspect, and produce manufactured products per operating procedures and instructions.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Perform complex manual machining
- Understand and operate machines, tooling, and measuring equipment properly and safely
- Read/understand basic blueprints
- Basic math skills
- Effective communication skills and ability to work as a team with coworkers
- Follow written and verbal instructions
- Work independently with help as needed
- Regular attendance is essential
- Able to use specialized equipment including manual machines and measuring tools
- 5-10 years experience in manual machining
- Basic product knowledge and programming skills
- Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment regularly.
- Must be able to wear appropriate PPE, including but not limited to: safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, and other equipment regularly.
- Ability to lift/move up to 50-100 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand for 8 or more hours daily/regularly.
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl regularly.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this position, the technician is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, and electrical equipment in both high and low voltage/amperage ranges, and occasionally exposed to high places, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally high.
