JOB OVERVIEW

Assist Server in providing quality food and beverage service to guests courteously and efficiently. Maintain cleanliness of tables, service areas and equipment. Stock all wares and equipment needed for service.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
  • Maintain positive guest and resident relations at all times.
  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation and proper table set ups.
  • Maintain knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations.
  • Complete opening side duties:
  1. Check station assignments and complete work to be done.
  2. Transport supplies from storeroom to the Restaurant as assigned.
  3. Set up trash receptacles and breakdown area following departmental specifications.
  4. Stock condiments and supplies as laid down in departmental standards.
  5. Set up bread station as laid down in departmental standards.
  6. Prepare beverage stations as assigned as laid down in departmental standards.
  7. Retrieve clean linen from laundry and stock in restaurants.
  8. Fold napkins as required.
  9. Stock and polish all side station wares to the stated levels required for business.
  10. Stock all silverware needed to deliver food.
  11. Stock the wine with all garnishes needed for service.
  12. Stock the wine with plates needed for service.
  13. Set tables.
  14. Attend Pre-Meal meeting.
  • Serve water to all guests.
  • Serve bread and butter.
  • Serve coffee, tea and other designated non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Remove soiled wares and other items from tables as assigned.
  • Transport tray from restaurant to breakdown area; and separate wares and food. 
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness of assigned tables.
  • Place additional utensils and wares on tables as directed.
  • Maintain wine buckets.
  • Change soiled ashtrays.
  • Refill non-alcoholic beverages according to procedures.
  • Clean and reset tables immediately after guest departs.
  • Lift trays.
  • Breakdown trays.
  • Replenish wares in side stations throughout shift.
  • Clean coffee machine and other beverage equipment as assigned. 
  • Complete closing duties as assigned:
  1. Properly store all reusable goods.
  2. Breakdown all food stations.
  3. Breakdown all beverage stations.
  4. Restock items for next service.
  5. Transport all dirty linen to Laundry.
  6. Secure all supplies at shift end.
  • Leave duty after reporting to supervisor.
  • Issue, open and serve wine/champagne bottles; collect payment/tickets where specified.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule that may include early morning, evening, night, and weekend shifts

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds; Ability to move safely in uneven terrain or in confined spaces; Ability to see and respond to dangerous situations; Ability to remain in stationary position for 8 hours or more; Ability to move safely in uneven terrain or in confined spaces; Ability to see and respond to dangerous situations; Ability to remain in stationary position for 8 hours or more. Walking and standing are required the rest of the working day. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task; Availability to work When Facility Is Open: This could include nights, weekends, and holidays. • CPR and First Aid certified. • Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of constantly to move objects. • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
