Fairfield Memorial Hospital is currently seeking a full-time Laboratory Director. This applicant should have previous management experience in a hospital.

This position is responsible for:

• Directing and coordinating activities of employees engaged in performing chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
• Assigns employees to duties and oversees performance of tests in fields of microbiology, chemistry, urinalysis, coagulation, hematology, immunohematology, serology, and blood bank.
• Coordinates or delegates the coordination of compliance, Quality Control and Performance Improvement, Competency Assessments, continuing education programs, budget analysis, scheduling, payroll, and other processes as needed.
• Laboratory outreach, including rural health satellite clinic labs.
• Good verbal and oral communication skills

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in one of the Physical Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)
• MT Certification ASCP or Equivalent
• Experience with Joint Commission Regulations and Standards and CLIA
• Experience with API or equivalent Proficiency Testing
• 5 years of Supervisory Experience
• Experience with MedHost Results Reporting Module preferred
