Status: Full Time; Non- Exempt
Nature of Work: Provides management of patient care throughout all hospital nursing care units. Unit of function will be decided with reference to patient acuity and census. Supports the care of patients through safe nursing practice based on evidence based practice upon which the Nursing Department’s policies and procedures are based. Works in conjunction with ancillary departments as their activities relate to nursing and patient care.
Provides professional nursing care, coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Determines priorities of care based on physical and psycho social needs of patients. Communicates with physicians regarding changes in patient's status, symptomatology and results of diagnostic studies. Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Strives to improve team effectiveness, system processes and patient outcomes across the continuum of care.
Education and Certification Requirements: Graduated from an accredited school of nursing. Two to five years of clinical experience preferred. Licensed and currently registered as a Professional Nurse in the State of Illinois. Must be willing to obtain BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
