Fairview Health Services is Hiring a Senior Project Manager Near Paul, MN

Overview

As a professional member of the Transformation Office, the Sr Project Manager is responsible for end-to-end ownership of one or more projects. The Sr Project Manager will independently plan and effectively manage all aspects of assigned medium to large size projects, including cost, schedule, scope, quality, value, and project resources following the appropriate methodologies.

Responsibilities Job Description

Job Expectations:

  • Deliver projects (in terms of complexity, risk and/or business criticality) through effective management of budget, schedule, scope, quality, and value. Accountable for project communications, milestone tracking, resource planning, financials, risk assessment and contingency planning and escalation and resolution of critical issues to project sponsors/owners.
  • Develop the overall project plan, approach, objectives, and key deliverables; identify/track key measures of success. Develop a comprehensive project plan incorporating deliverable, resource plans, milestones, accountabilities, and communication plan and timelines. Provide regular status reporting on plan progress and ensure all company standards are followed. Ensure appropriate testing and quality reviews are conducted and receive sign-off.
  • Identify and align project resource requirements including employee and contractor resources and work with plan sponsors to ensure adequately skilled resources are available to deliver on project commitments and ensure successful project delivery. Provide effective leadership to project resources in a manner that ensures timely delivery of commitments/tasks in support of broader project deliverables (through informal performance feedback, coaching and skill development, etc.).
  • Work effectively with business partners, vendors, and staff to develop the project agenda and ensure agreement/adoption of project objectives/deliverables by affected constituencies. Provide proactive project communication to project owners. Work to identify cross-organizational interdependencies and ensure appropriate integration to project plan. Effectively manage client expectations and resource requirements to ensure ownership and success.
  • Works closely with key stakeholders on development and maintenance of project metrics, KPIs, proformas and project valuations throughout the various phases of the project life cycle.
  • Serves as a thought partner and adviser to project owners/key system leaders
  • Create and manage the overall project readiness plan and communicate impacts to appropriate stakeholders. Lead and participate in regular post-implementation reviews and present project metrics to help evaluate project quality. Provide regular status reporting for assigned releases. Log, track, and escalate high priority project issues that may impact ability to deliver a quality project according to plan.
  • Actively champion and contribute to the continuous improvement of project management best practices, using innovative ideas to increase effectiveness of the overall organization. Provide subject matter expertise in areas including project scope definition, risk identification, project methodology, resource allocation, facilitation and other areas of expertise based on established project management techniques.
  • Train, Coach and mentor staff regarding technology, methodologies, and standards. Proactively share knowledge and collaborate with the necessary teams to ensure quick and effective responses to customer needs. Maintain up-to-date business domain knowledge and technical skills in software development technologies and methodologies.
  • Leverages and applies knowledge of and experience with healthcare best practices and industry trends in innovation

    • Complies with and maintains knowledge of all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Fosters a culture of improvement, efficiency, and innovative thinking.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Power-Point, Visio, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education/work experience project managing.

Required Experience:

  • 7 years project management experience in healthcare system departments
  • Successful experience driving cross-organizational teams to meet project objectives; Leverages many years of experience to manage extensive projects, and is highly competent in the implementation of project results
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including executive level presentations
  • Successful record of accomplishment of delivering projects that meet business objectives
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of tools
  • Ability to formally present project related information in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner
  • Excellent facilitation skills and ability to drive resolution to issues
  • Expert skills in project management methodologies, processes, and industry standard tools
  • Successful experience driving cross-organizational teams to meet project objectives
  • Ability to relate well at all levels of the organization, building rapport and maintaining collaborative relationships

Required License/Certification/Registration

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification

Preferred Education:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent combination of education/work experience

Preferred Experience:

  • 10 years project management experience
  • Healthcare experience
  • Large organization change management experience

Preferred License/Certification/Registration:

Multiple project management certifications which may include but are not necessarily limited to Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Certified Project Manager (CPM), Master Project Manager
