The Support Group Facilitator position is a part time employee who reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for the successful implementation of the Dougy Center model for grief support group facilitation. The Support Group Facilitator will work closely with the Executive Director to develop, improve, evaluate and implement services that align with the mission of FGP. The Support Group Facilitator is expected to work 4-10 hours per month.

Family Services Program

• Primary Duties and Responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of FGP’s Support Groups:
• Develop and maintain a rapport with families.
• Schedule virtual support groups.
• Supervise and train student social work interns assigned to FGP as appropriate
• Work with the Program Coordinator to engage families in support group services
• Seek out resources for families based on identified needs
• Coordinate and implement additional events and services
• Promote support groups via social media in collaboration with the Community Outreach Coordinator.
• Record keeping for attendance
• Record keeping for student intern supervision
• Oversee regular evaluation of the support group through surveys and observation.

Qualifications and Experience

Education

Licensure in Social Work, Counseling, or other related field

Communication

• Excellent communication skills both oral and written
• Attention to detail
• Ability to manage and prioritize time and responsibilities
