We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Associate Technical Designer to join our team, specializing in Women’s Tops for our Club Division. The successful candidate will assist in the technical design process, working closely with the senior technical designer and cross-functional teams to ensure our products meet the highest standards of fit, construction, and quality.
Technical Design Assistance: Support the technical design process for women’s tops, including blouses, shirts, and knitwear. Assist in the creation of technical packages, including specs, construction details, and measurement charts.
Fit Sessions: Participate in fit sessions and assist in documenting fit comments and pattern corrections. Ensure that garments align with the brand’s fit and quality standards.
Sample Review: Review and evaluate development samples for fit, construction, and overall quality. Communicate necessary changes and follow up on sample corrections.
Collaboration: Work closely with senior technical designers, product developers, and factories to translate design concepts into production-ready samples. Assist in resolving technical issues throughout the product development cycle.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of technical specifications, fit comments, and sample evaluations. Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and organized.
Quality Control: Assist in establishing and maintaining quality standards for fabrics, trims, and construction. Support the technical team in conducting quality checks and inspections.
Trend Awareness: Stay informed about industry trends, advancements in materials, and best practices in technical design. Support the integration of new techniques to enhance product performance.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Technical Design, or a related field.
Experience: 1-2 years of technical design experience in women’s apparel, with a focus on tops. Experience with retail or wholesale brands, especially those supplying to major club stores, is preferred.
Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of patternmaking, garment construction, and grading. Experience with PLM systems is required; experience with Centric PLM is a plus. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and CAD software is preferred.
Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in technical documentation and sample evaluations.
Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively document and convey technical information.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive attitude.
Problem-Solving: Basic analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to support senior team members in addressing technical challenges.
