Job Summary: Families Forward's Child Development Center is a non-profit that serves children between the ages of two and five. The Float Teacher is responsible for supporting the Lead Teachers in implementation of the curriculum, supervising children, and providing a healthy and safe environment for children. The Float Teacher will also be trained in the Kitchen. Work days are Monday through Friday with an 8 hour shift from 8:45 am to 5:15 pm. .
Education and Experience:
Required: At least 18 years old, a high school diploma or GED, completion of all state-required early childhood training classes, and one year experience in group care. Successful applicants are expected to continue formal training to meet program requirements.
Preferred: A CDA (Child Development Associate credential) and two years’ experience in group care.
Responsibilities:
· Assists the Lead Teachers to establish and maintain a safe and healthy learning environment.
· Assists the Lead Teachers to advance physical and intellectual competence.
· Assists the Lead Teachers to support social and emotional development and provide positive guidance.
· Assists the Lead Teachers to establish positive and productive relationships with families.
· Assists the Lead Teachers to ensure a well-run purposeful program responsive to participant needs.
· Assists the Lead Teachers to maintain a commitment to professionalism.
· Assist in the Kitchen in the absence of the cook.
Starting pay rate will be $16.50 per hour. Eligible for a Stay Bonus of $500 per quarter. Excellent benefit package provided.
