Requirements:

Must be nice, good at multi-tasking, have strong computer and typing skills, experience answering phone calls, and be reliable working a set schedule. Applicants must be friendly and courteous to patients and staff. Experience with eClincalWorks electronic medical records system, or another EMR system, is preferred.

Description:

We are a primary care facility in Durham, NC near the intersection of Highway 54 and Highway 55. We have four primary care providers and approximately 4500 active patients. We use an Electronic Medical Record to run the practice, so above average computer skills are required. We are looking for an applicant who could start work in the next 2-4 weeks, but can work around current obligations.

We are hiring one part-time position working at our front desk in mornings and afternoons. Starting hours will be 7:45am-12:00pm, Monday - Friday. Full-time consideration will be considered, if requested. In total, you will average working an estimated 20 hours per week.

Basic Tasks:

- Check patients in and verify demographic information.
- Answer phone calls from patients and schedule appointments.
- Facilitate messages between patients and doctors.
- Verify insurances online or over the phone at time of check in.
- Obtain prior authorizations for patient procedures and prescriptions.
- Go through fax inbox and assign documents to doctors, manager or nurse based on need.
- Answer voice mail messages and return patient calls promptly.
- Scan documents into electronic medical records system.
- Go through mail and determine where incoming information needs to go.
- Order supplies for office when we are close to running out.
- This list is not comprehensive, but most basic receptionist duties apply.

Benefits:

We are flexible with vacations, class schedules, and family obligations and have lunch provided for our staff up to three days per week. There are no additional paid benefits to the part-time position.
