Family Child Education-SCUSD is Hiring a Site Supervisor - After School (School Age) Program Near Santa Clara, CA

Family Child Education-Santa Clara Unified School District provides high-quality infant, toddler preschool, and after-school programs on elementary school campuses throughout Santa Clara Unified School District.

Family Child Education is seeking a professional and passionate Youth Program Leader interested in making a difference in the lives of young children ages 4-12 years old.

As one of our dynamic and experienced after-school Site Supervisors, you will lead the daily operation of an Extended Learning program, ensuring student safety and security, the leadership of program staff, and the development of family, school site, community and district partnerships. Site Supervisors ensure our programs provide hands-on, developmentally appropriate educational activities, enriched and inviting indoor and outdoor classroom environments, and lead a team of child development professionals to create a positive after-school learning experience for children and their families.

POSITION DETAILS:

SALARY:$36.52-$41.53 per hour

  • Salary based on education and experience

HOURS: Monday – Friday: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm, 12 months

  • Schedule may vary depending on the needs of the program. (program operating hours are from school dismissal-6:00pm; 7:30am-6:00 pm during school breaks/summer)
  • Programs are open year-round.
  • Hours, schedules, and locations are subject to change when school is not in session based on the needs of the program and department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience as a supervisor in an after-school program.
  • AA or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Youth/Adolescent Development, or a related field. BA preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience working with children in grades TK-5 in a large after-school enrichment program.
  • Working knowledge or the ability to learn district-adopted software: Google Suite software, Google Hangout, Google Meet, and/or Zoom, etc.

CPR and First Aid Certified

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Must be in good health, able to lift 30 lbs. chest high, and pass a physical exam
  • Must be able to walk, squat, bend, and stand; ability to move freely to supervise and engage in indoor and outdoor activities with children.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Responsible for the overall supervision of the daily operations of the Extended Learning program, ensuring student safety and security, leadership of program staff, and development of family, school site, community, and district partnerships.
  • Provide leadership in the development and implementation of a safe and nurturing learning environment that supports the developmental, social-emotional, and physical needs of all students.
  • Ability to problem solve, use good judgment, communicate effectively both verbally & written, set priorities and goals, resolve conflict, and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to effectively convey messages regarding organizational policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Ability to perform job duties with minimum supervision.
  • Manage center financial, marketing, and enrollment functions.
  • Use Positive Discipline in classroom management techniques.
  • Ensure the health and safety needs of the children are met and issues are dealt with immediately and appropriately.
  • Create a classroom environment that helps young people develop positive relationships with peers and adults.
  • Create an exciting and enriched environment connected to curriculum and quality learning experiences.
  • Knowledge and experience with Project Based Learning, STEAM, and creating developmentally appropriate curriculum.
  • Provide excellent customer service for families, school, community, and each other.
  • Communicate regularly with parents to support, guide, and share in their child’s development.
  • Ability to supervise, coach, and mentor teachers in curriculum development, classroom management, and parent/family partnerships.
  • Ability to work collaboratively by practicing workplace values, flexibility, and being a team player.
  • Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with the school community.
  • The Site Supervisor is expected to be in ratio to support the program when students are in attendance.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $36.52 - $41.83 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
