Family Eye Care has part-time to full-time positions available for RECEPTIONISTS/OPTOMETRIC TECHNICIANS.

Daily Tasks

Front Desk: Schedule appointments, address insurance questions, answer questions in person and on the phone. Work with different medical and vision insurances. Send Intakes. Call and confirm appointments for next day. Pull charts and scan records. Other tasks include vacuuming, dusting, stock rooms, etc.

Checking in: We are looking for a joyful and caring personality to greet patients. Verify paperwork has been completed and insurance has been verified. Set up correct form according to type of appointment. Input patient's medical history to their electronic records.

Preliminary exams include using different diagnostic optometric equipment (auto-refractor, NCT, retinal camera(CLARUS), Oculus Visual Field, etc) and understanding their need and use. Assist Doctor with any other task to assure we meet patient's needs. For example: - Pull contacts - set up I&R for new contact lens wearers -Transition the patient to dispense contact lenses and or spectacles - Get previous records -Fax records/referrals, etc

Checking out: Make sure we have answered all of the patient's questions/concerns. Collect copays. Create invoices for insurance and patients. Coding/Billing. Run Credit Card terminal. Handle different types of payment, Cash/Check/Credit Card/CareCredit. Print EOD report. Close CC batch.'
