DescriptionUnder the direction of the Facilitates Manager, provides a safe and secure environment for the patients and staff of Family Healthcare. Part time position, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 4:00p-8:00p. Responsible for observing, investigating and reporting activities and incidents at FHH. Maintains a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and staff. Assists with emergency management plans and activities. Maintains respect for employees, patients, visitors and volunteers, and their individual commitment and contributions in support of FHH’s mission to provide consistent quality services. Demonstrates regard for, dignity toward, and respect for all patients, families, guests, and representatives of other organizations to ensure a professional, courteous, and responsive environment. Monitors access to building to prevent unauthorized individuals entering; and ensure a safe and comfortable environment for employees and visitors. Patrols premises, both inside and out, checking for unsafe conditions, hazards, or security violations. Including removing debris from parking lot, spreading salt when needed; etc. Responds to unusual or emergency situations, alarms, and distress calls. Maintains daily activity log and submits to supervisor at the end of the week. Conducts investigations and complies reports in a timely manner for unusual incidents per policy. Secures the building at the end of the day. Assist with arranging tables, chairs, and equipment for events as requested. Assist with coverage of the Greeter's Desk to ensure efficient patient flow. Participates in monthly safety inspections and FHH Safety drills. Address patient questions or concerns or direct to appropriate personnel. RequirementsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience: Minimum 2 years of security experience preferred. Must have basic skills in customer service and working knowledge of or ability to learn security operations and procedures. Other: Must possess physical ability to perform heavy duty lifting, up to 40 pounds and ability to work from step ladders. CPR certification preferred. Physical And Mental EffortPhysical: Heavy physical effort required. Occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling. Frequent sitting, standing and walking, which may be required for long periods of time. Mental: Frequent periods of concentration with attention to details with frequent opportunity for diversification of tasks. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions with general reading of instructions. Sensory requirements include the ability to articulate and comprehend the spoken English language, in addition to being able to read and write the English language. Environmental And Working ConditionsWork performed in modern well-equipped environment. Interfaces with fellow employees, patients, family members, and visitors on a daily basis. Some periods of outside activities with exposure to heat and cold required. Subject to flexible hours as needed. Exposure to hazardous chemicals, biological pathogens, disagreeable odors, dirt, falls, noise, and burns as part of routine operations. Interfaces with fellow employees on a daily basis.
