Family Paths is Hiring a Quality Assurance Coordinator Near Hayward, CA

We’re looking for a licensed Quality Assurance (QA) Coordinator to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with the QA Manager to implement policies and procedures regarding documentation standards, track compliance, and provide relevant reports. Additionally, the QA Coordinator will be responsible for guiding the clinical staff’s training and support systems in clinical documentation protocols.

The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, extensive knowledge of clinical documentation practices, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of compliance and accuracy. This position requires a demonstration and commitment to our agency’s mission, vision, and values, including a strong commitment to social justice and culturally and linguistically responsive practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Quality Assurance Duties:

  • Provides Quality Review of clinical charts and progress notes to ensure compliance with state, county, and agency standards.
  • Serves as a member of the EPSDT Clinical Quality Review Team to implement best practices regarding chart documentation and contract compliance.
  • Take on clinical caseloads of 1-3 clients or provide clinical supervision for 1-3 unlicensed clinicians.
  • Identify training issues, coordinate training, and provide ongoing support to clinicians as it relates to clinical documentation, billing, and the Electronic Health Record system.
  • Updates the EPSDT documentation training manual as needed.
  • Coordinates with the Billing Team and Clinical Records Specialist to track and report clinician compliance with billing and documentation protocols.
  • Regularly reviews client files and operating processes.
  • Attends department and other mandatory meetings and designated training events sponsored by or required by Family Paths.
  • Develops and performs internal documentation-related training as needed.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Clinical Services Duties (AMFT, ASW, LMFT, LCSW, LPCC required):

  • Consult regularly with the Program and/or Clinical Supervisor.
  • Collaboratively identify and set treatment goals that align with the family's values and strengths.
  • Initiate contacts with caregivers, children, and referrals to determine appropriate services and evaluate clients for diagnosis, treatment modality, and interventions that consider cultural and linguistic needs and strengths.
  • Maintains an appropriate caseload, meets program billing goals as determined by the Program Manager, and keeps client files according to County/State guidelines within specified timelines.
  • Participate in case consultations with other members of the Family Paths treatment team, as needed.

Additional Duties:

  • Approves CANS as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology or related field plus a minimum of 2 years of work experience.
  • Clinical License (AMFT, ASW, LMFT, LCSW, LPCC)
  • Knowledge of psychodynamic theory, attachment and trauma theories, psychopathology, family systems, and child abuse treatment and ability to apply this knowledge in a therapeutic relationship.
  • Clinical experience working with low-income adults, couples, children and their families.
  • Ability to support clinical learning for new therapists that is developmentally appropriate to their skill level.
  • Knowledge of EPSDT/MediCal paperwork standards.
  • Working knowledge of all laws pertaining to mental health in general and child abuse in particular.
  • Understanding of organizational and clinical documentation standards and the ability to identify non-compliant documentation.
  • Advanced computer skills/proficiencies: MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bilingual (Spanish).
  • 2 years of experience in quality assurance or clinical documentation improvement.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Effective and respectful communication (verbal and written), strong attention to detail, deadline-driven, organized, flexible, consistent, and the ability to take accountability for actions.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and work independently on a day-to-day basis legally and ethically.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must pass criminal records clearance.
