Job Title: Construction Estimator - Multi-Family Plumbing

As we continue to expand, we are seeking a talented and experienced Construction Estimator with expertise in multi-family plumbing to join our dynamic team.

Position Overview: We are looking for a detail-oriented and skilled Construction Estimator with 3-10 years of experience in multi-family plumbing estimating. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of accurately assessing project costs, creating comprehensive estimates, and collaborating with project teams to ensure successful outcomes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our projects.

Responsibilities: 

1. Thorough Project Analysis, Take-offs, and Plumbing Expertise:
   • Conduct meticulous analysis of project plans and specifications, focusing on accurate quantity take-offs specifically for plumbing components in multi-family residential developments.
   • Utilize in-depth plumbing expertise and industry-standard take-off methods to ensure precise measurements, minimizing the risk of underestimation or overestimation.
2. Collaboration with Stakeholders on Design Intent:
   • Work closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to align take-off quantities with plumbing design intent, ensuring accurate representation of plumbing requirements.
   • Leverage plumbing knowledge to proactively address design modifications and value engineering opportunities that may impact take-offs and overall project costs.
3. Bid Evaluation for Correct Pricing and Plumbing Quality:
   • Solicit and evaluate bids with a specific focus on correct pricing for plumbing materials and labor.
   • Turn in bid reports in a timely manner. 
4. Comprehensive Estimate Preparation with Plumbing Precision:
   • Utilize advanced estimating software and methodologies, incorporating plumbing knowledge, to develop comprehensive estimates with a strong emphasis on correct pricing.
   • Prepare detailed documentation showcasing accurate breakdowns of plumbing material costs, labor costs, and any necessary allowances.
5. Continuous Improvement in Plumbing Knowledge and Pricing Accuracy:
   • Stay abreast of plumbing industry trends, codes, and regulations to enhance overall plumbing knowledge and continuously improve the accuracy of estimating.
   • Implement feedback loops related to plumbing expertise to learn from previous projects, refining both plumbing knowledge and the pricing strategy for future multi-family plumbing estimates.
6. Project Support with Plumbing Insight and Budget Adherence:
   • Collaborate closely with project management teams, providing plumbing insight and expertise to support successful project execution.
   • Offer plumbing-related support, ensuring correct pricing and adherence to budget constraints, with a focus on maintaining plumbing quality standards.

Qualifications:

1. Educational Background:
   • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
   • In lieu of a degree, relevant experience will be accepted.
   • Relevant certifications in estimating, plumbing systems, or construction management would be a plus.
2. Experience:
   • Proven track record with 3-10 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on multi-family plumbing projects.
   • Demonstrated success in accurately estimating plumbing costs for residential developments, showcasing a comprehensive understanding of industry standards and best practices.
3. Technical Proficiency:
   • In-depth knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and regulations relevant to multi-family residential construction.
   • Proficiency in using industry-standard estimating software for plumbing (Autodesk, BIM), as well as a strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
4. Communication Skills:
   • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey complex technical information to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
5. Detail-Oriented:
   • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in estimating and the ability to identify potential risks or opportunities within project plans and specifications.
